Why is Germany always so good?

That was a dominating performance by the Germans, perhaps the most impressive team we've seen so far. I guess we shouldn't be suprised if Germany goes deep into the tournament, but it still amazes me how in every World Cup the Germans overachieve without top-notch club players. For example, the starting German forwards (Podolski and Klose, who scored the first two goals) has poor seasons with their German clubs (Klose did not even start for Bayern M.), yet they somehow manage to rise to the occasion during international play. It's the opposite of underacheiving England, loaded with over-hyped Premiership players who simply do not perform well during the World Cup. Is this coaching/managing or does it have something to do with the player's mentalities?

So far Germany, Argentina, and Korea have impressed me the most, but we have yet to see the three best teams in the world: Spain, Brazil, and Netherlands!
